Valentine Crafts for Kids (2024)

What’s the Project: These simple and fun Valentine crafts for kids are great to do with the little ones at home or are perfect for a school Valentine’s Day party. Easy for you, fun for the kids!

I was talking to my 18-year-old son the other day and he mentioned that as a single guy in his late teens, he has no real reason to love Valentine’s Day, and yet it’s got a soft spot in his heart. It’s just a fun holiday, maybe partly because it’s a bright spot in the otherwise dreary time of year.

I don’t know about you, but I really love celebrating Valentine’s Day. I think it’s also partly because everything is so cute! Pink and hearts and glitter…these are all my favorite things. Add chocolate to the mix and you’ve really got a deal! And it’s fun to focus on spreading love to others. I love to do nice things for neighbors, friends, my kids, and of course, my husband.

I am hoping to find some time with my kids in the next week or two to do some fun Valentine’s crafts or make some fun Valentine’s treats.

If you’re hoping to do the same, or if you’ve got a class party that you’re going to be helping with and you need some easy Valentine crafts for kids, here are some great ideas. I seriously had so much fun pulling these ideas together because they are SO SO cute!

I hope you have a blast doing these with your kids.

Before we hit the craft ideas, need some more fun Valentine’s Day ideas for your kids? Here are some great ones (games and gifts) that I love and think you might too!

Easy Valentine Crafts for Kids:

Think beyond the paper hearts (though those are fun too) and try some of these new Valentine craft ideas that are great for kids of all ages. I’ve tried to include things that can be enjoyed by many ages-toddlers to teens, preschoolers to parents. Have fun looking these over and picking some out!

You don’t have to make these just for Christmas! Have you ever thought of making a cute little gingerbread house for Valentine’s Day? I know my kids love it when they do this for a classroom party. Or you could do it at home. My kids would be THRILLED if we did that.

A great one for class parties because it’s simple and won’t cost a lot. Works great for many ages too. Grab some paper plates, construction paper, clothes pins, and googley eyes and you’re all set!

These are a favorite of mine! (These are from this blog so I am biased.) Take a heart-shaped cookie cutter and turn it into a little ladybug or lovebug if you will! Super easy but so cute and creative! Decorate with candy or chocolate chips.

Love Bug Cookies:

Who doesn’t love a little love monster? I’ve made these with my kids in recent years (even my teenage son once!) and they loved it. Grab some yarn and pipe cleaners and make these little guys.

These are as simple as needing to cut strips of cardstock and then using a stapler to shape them into hearts. Simple but cute!

Are you a lover of gnomes? I know some people are getting tired of them but how can you resist such a cute little creature? They are adorable!

Here’s something unique that your kids will love doing because it will really bring out their inner artistic skills. Not hard to make either! (Bonus!) This heart garland would make cute and easy Valentine’s decorations too.

More love bugs! Such a cute idea. Grab some golf balls (they can even be old and beat up ones since you are going to paint them anyway) and make these cute little guys.

Ahhh! This little penguin Valentine’s Day card is very sweet and would be super simple to make at a class party. All you need is glue and construction paper and the kiddos could write a cute message to someone that they love on it like mom, dad, or grandparents. Meaningful AND fun! This site has a template and instructions ready for you to use.

I absolutely love to sit down and color with my kids. It’s so relaxing and a great way to get them talking with you. Print these cute Valentine’s Day coloring pages, get out your crayons, and color away! Even toddlers and preschoolers can do this!

A sweet way to remember those little thumbprints and little hands, make a heart with them and turn it into a magnet for mom or for grandma to hang on the fridge! A sweet keepsake.

Love it or hate it? You know the kids would have a blast making this sparkly Valentine’s slime. If you can stand the mess. 🙂 But hey, it’s got glitter in it! You can’t go wrong with that. (Spoken by a glitter lover.)

Another easy one with yarn that I think elementary kids might enjoy. No mess on this one really at all! Follow this link for the easy tutorial.

Yarn Hearts:

SUPER simple, make a heart wreath from paper hearts. All you’ll need is scissors to cut out tons of hearts (or better yet, got a Cricut to do that work for you?) and then glue them together and add ribbon.

How fun are all of those cute ideas to do with your kids or grandkids? Don’t they get you excited to do some crafts with them? I am REALLY hoping to do the lovebug cookies (and maybe add some almond extract to them…yum) and I’d love to make the gnomes…and maybe several others. We will see how much time I’ve got! My boys are getting old enough that they don’t always want to do these things with me but maybe I can con them into it this year because mama loves making Valentinc crafts with them!

Which are you excited for? Any that you for sure want to make? Any favorites that you make each year that aren’t here?

Enjoy these fun diy Valentine crafts for kids.
