Describe Keto Coquito.

On average, my husband cooks just once a year. His signature beverage, the coquito, is actually a meal!

It is creamy and full of toasty spices like cinnamon and cloves, just like delicious classic eggnog. Without sweetner.

Keto Coquito Spanish Eggnog ingredients include:

Sweetened condensed milk substitute for keto

Condensed milk that has been sweetened is one of the key components of Coquito. In addition to making the beverage thick and creamy, it also gives it a deep caramel flavor and sweetness.

You’ll need the following to duplicate those flavors:

Coconut Cream

Heavy whipping cream: I prefer this because of the rich, high-fat flavor it has, although coconut cream would also work.

A delectable beverage made with coconut and rum and flavored with nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. Coquito comes in a variety of forms, just like any traditional dishes. In certain recipes, egg yolks are used uncooked, while in others, they are boiled with coconut milk to create a thin custard-like base. Instead of using sugary condensed milk, I utilized my keto condensed milk to convert this festive beverage to a low-carb and paleo option.

For fans of this coconut rum co*cktail, here is a recipe for the keto coquito. The Puerto Rican co*cktail called coquito is ideal for Christmas.

The classic coquito recipe does not contain egg yolks, despite the fact that some variants of the dish may do so and become coconut nog. This festive beverage contains rum, keto condensed milk, coconut cream, and coconut milk. This wonderful coconut-flavored rum beverage is made with the addition of subtle flavors like cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg.

COQUITO IS IT LOW CARB?

Due to the sugar content, coquito traditionally has a high carbohydrate level of 20g net carbs. Just 2g net carbohydrates per serving in this keto version of coquito.

Tips and Alternatives

Coconut milk recipes may thicken when stored in the refrigerator. Allow the coquito to sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes, then shake ferociously for a few seconds to bring it back to liquid state. Alternately, submerge the jar for 30 to 60 seconds in a basin of warm water, then shake and serve.

Although not entirely keto or paleo, alcohol is allowed on occasion. Your body must metabolize alcohol in order for it to be stored as fat, even if there is no sugar present. As a result, weight reduction will be slowed since your body will use alcohol instead of body fat. Try replacing the rum with an equal amount of cold coconut water or almond milk to make this beverage alcohol-free.

For Coquito, use dark or white rum.

For my coquito, I personally use white rum, but you are welcome to substitute dark rum if you choose. Both types of recipes are available. I just like to keep white rum on hand all the time.

Alcohol-free coquito

The drink’s alcohol content can always be left out. It’s similar to conventional eggnog without the alcohol and everyone loves a coconut. Use vanilla extract.
